Exhibit and General Public Information

The third exhibit in The Soldier Experience Series will provide an immersive look at Asian-American and Pacific Islander Soldiers throughout the Army’s history.   The exhibit will explore the honor and valor of Chinese-Americans, Filipino-Americans, Japanese-Americans, Korean-Americans, Vietnamese-Americans, South Asian-Americans, and the Hmong/Laotian/Montagnard veterans.

These Soldiers embody the sentiment of the Soldier’s Creed.

I am an American Soldier.
I am a warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.

The Asian-American Soldiers Stories: Honor and Valor exhibit is made possible by the AAPI Military Advisory Committee.  The committee was formed in December 2015 to assist the Army Historical Foundation and the National Museum of the U.S. Army in gathering resources to document Asian-American and Pacific Islander Soldiers’ accomplishments and contributions to the U.S. Army and our nation.  The committee is represented by Chinese-American, Filipino-American, Japanese-American, Korean-American, Vietnamese-American, South Asian-American, and Hmong/Laotian/Montagnard veterans.

The Army Historical Foundation’s The Soldier Experience Series is designed as a prelude to the National Museum of the United States Army.

The exhibit will be open to the general public on May 25, 26, 27, and 31 from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
