2015 Scholarships

In October we honored the memory of devoted JAVA members by giving scholarships in their names:
The Daniel K. Inouye Scholarship winner for 2015 is Emma Fusako Ishii, a Public Policy major at Mills College.
In memory of Phil and Doug Ishio, the JAVA Founders Scholarship winner is Mike Mikawa, a Doctor of Law student at the University of Southern California.
JAVA Memorial Scholarships were given as follows:
In memory of Ranger Grant Hirabayashi, the winner is Kelsey Ichikawa, a Biomedical Engineering major at Harvard University.
 
In memory of Joe Ichiuji,  the winner is Sarah Lieberman, a Government major at Cornell University.
In memory of Mutsugi Kasai, the winner is Cassidy Minae Jung, a Health & Human Biology major at Brown University.
In memory of Teru and Victor Matsui, the winner is Aislinn Ozawa-Burns, an International Relations major at University of California, Santa Barbara.
In memory of Betty Shima, the winner is Kalen T. Saito, a Business major at Chapman University.
In memory of Orville Shirey, the winner is Andrew Mitsuhiro Chun, a Chemical Engineering major at the University of Michigan.
In memory of Betty and Calvin Taira, the winner is Sarah E. Nakasone, a Biology major at the University of Chicago.
In memory of Bob Nakamoto, the winner is Samantha T. Hirata, a Business Administration major at San Francisco State University.
In memory of Kelly Kuwayama, the winner is Michael T. Imai, a Neuroscience major at University of California, Los Angeles.
In memory of Kiyoko Taubkin, the winner is Nicole Nishizawa of Harvard University.
In memory of Calvin Ninomiya, the winner is Julia Marie Tani, a Natural Resources, Environmental Science major at Virginia Tech.
